Drakensang Online (2013-2016)
Drakensang Online is a browser based Hack&Slash MMORPG full of exploration and action. The first beta was released in 2011 and the game has since updated and improved on a regular basis regarding its feature set and the playable content. It now features four different classes with customizable skills, six acts that lead through the story and take place on four continents. It also has typical social features like groups and guilds and four different PvP modes. A variety of different monsters, bosses, tons of different items and regular time limited game events keep the player entertained.
I was part of the Drakensang Online Team at Bigpoint Berlin from September 2013 to September 2016.
I started writing my Master Thesis and was afterwards primarily responsible for C++ Gameplay Programming. This included the front-end (visualization, UI, input handling), back-end (scalable services/architecture, database, network communication) and sometimes tool development (C#, WPF) or the Launcher/Thin Client (C++, Qt). I was working on features like AI (Quest Guidance, Autoplay for the Asian market), Social System (Groups, Guilds), Quest System, Staging System (event&subscriber scripting system for various events in the game) or the Player Onboarding (Hint & Tutorial System). |
